Arrive into Dhaka on your international flight. You will be collected by our driver and transferred to the hotel.
Our tour starts today in Dhaka at 09:00. Our guide will meet us at our hotel lobby at 09:00, and we'll head toward Old Dhaka. We'll visit key tourist attractions in Old Dhaka throughout the day, including Dhakeshwari Temple, Lalbagh Fort, Khan Mohammad Mridha Mosque, Ahsan Manjil, and Sadarghat River Station with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant at midday. At 18:00 we will embark a traditional ferry at Sadarghat River Station and take an overnight journey to Barisal.
Disembark in the morning and head to our hotel to drop our luggage off before heading for breakfast. We will spend the whole day travelling through the rivers and small canals of the region and visiting markets. Overnight in Barisal.
A full day around Barisal today, again exploring the canals and rivers. We'll see a huge timber market before having a cultural exchange in a local school. At 18:00 we'll return to the ferry to travel back to Dhaka.
Arrive in Dhaka in the morning before heading to the airport for our flight to Bhutan. Arrive in Paro and drive on to the capital of Thimpu where we will visit the large bronze Buddha statue and the Memorial Chorten. Stay overnight in Thimpu.
Early morning visit to the Takin Zoo to see the national animal of Bhutan. Then we will drive to Phobjekha valley via Punakhaand scenic Dochula pass (3100m). We will visit Druk Wangyel monastery and spend time taking pictures of 108 chortens on top of the pass. Visit the Divine Madman’s Monastery-Chhimi Lhakhang, famously known for its fertility shrine, where you can receive a special fertility blessing. After lunch visit the Punakha Dzong, located on the island of the Pho Chu (male river) and the Mo chu (female river). In the evening visit local markets in Punakha. Stay overnight in Punakha.
After breakfast travel to Paro via Dochula pass. After we have arrived and had lunch we will visit the National Museum housed in the watchtower, and the imposing Paro Dzong which is a historic example of Bhutanese architecture built in the 16th Century. From here we will walk down to Nyamai Zampa, the oldest traditional cantilever bridge in Bhutan. Overnight in Paro.
Today we will hike up to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Return to Paro town afterwards to visit a 7th Century Temple and the Kyichu Monastery before having some free time for shopping or relaxing around the town. Overnight in Paro.
Today the tour ends and you have the choice to book onward flights with Druk Air to Nepal, Thailand, Bangladesh or India.
