As the fourth largest island in the world, Madagascar boasts a diverse terrain, ranging from lush rainforests and pristine beaches to towering mountains and arid deserts. It’s the unique wildlife however that steals the spotlight; the island is home to a staggering array of endemic species found nowhere else on Earth. From the charismatic lemurs, with their playful antics, to the colorful chameleons that inhabit the lush forests, every moment in Madagascar promises a wildlife encounter like no other.
Itinerary

Day One Antananarivo
• Arrive in the capital city of Antananarivo and transfer to your hotel.
• Depending on your arrival time, there may also be a chance to join us on a short tour of the city, visiting the old train station and Analakely Market.

Day Two Antsirabe
• After breakfast, we will head to the scenic viewpoint of the Queen’s Palace before starting our journey to Antsirabe, the capital of the Vakinankaratr region.
• Along the way, we can see the beautiful highland landscapes with rice fields, traditional redbrick houses, and locals going about their daily lives.
• This afternoon, we will take a tour of the city, where we will visit the historic Thermal Hotel, the Avenue of Independence and take a stroll along this significant street lined with colonial-era buildings. Next, we will see the Old Catholic Church and the local market.
•After, we will tour the local workshops to see artisans at work, and also visit the Miniature and Zebu Horn.

Day Three Miandrivazo
• An early departure as we will set off to Miandrivazo, stopping along the way to visit a local village and Tritriva Lake.

Day Four River Tour
• In the morning, we will begin a river cruise through the peaceful valley and original village of Miandrivazo.
• Chance to see pelicans, herons, kingfishers and much more bird life.
• Arrive at our riverbank destination where we will set up camp and you will have free time around the waterfalls, where it’s possible to swim.
• Overnight in tents.

Day Five Tsiribihina River
• Spend another day on the river and also stop at a village to meet with the locals.
• There is sometimes the chance to see crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks of the river.
• Overnight in tents.

Day Six Belo Sur Tsiribihina
• Disembark our boat in Belo Sur, Tsiribihina.
• Continue north through savannah, baobabs, and bushes to the National Park of Tsingy de Bemaraha.

Day Seven Bemaraha National Park
• Another early departure as we hike the to the top of Tsingy to get a breathtaking view of the gorge. There will be a morning hike and an afternoon hike to see two different routes.
• We’ll visit caves full of stalactite and stalagmites before taking a 3km walk in the forest teeming with special plants and lemurs.

Day Eight Kirindy Forest
• After breakfast, we drive towards Kirindy Forest.
• In the late evening, we’ll take a night walk in Kirindy Forest to find the Fossa and the Mouse Lemurs.

Day Nine Morondava
• We’ll take a morning walk in Kirindy Forest to spot many kinds of lemurs.
• We’ll then begin our trip by road to Morondava, stopping along the way to see 3 different types of Baobab trees.
• Sunset in the Avenue of the Baobabs.

Day Ten Betania Village
• In the morning, we’ll take an excursion to the fishermen village of Betania.
• Rest of the day at your own leisure around Morondava.

Day Eleven Return to Tana
• Transfer to the airport for our flight back to Antananarivo.
• We will then begin a drive across the Madagascar highlands to Andasibe.

Day Twelve Analamazaotra National Park
• Today we will trek inside the rainforest and explore the Analamazaotra National Park.
• Here we will track the Indri-Indri; the largest lemur in the world, before going in search for the amazing Giraffe Weevil.
• In the afternoon we will visit Vakoana Reserve; also known as the island of lemurs.
• Later in the evening, we’ll take a night safari to hopefully see frogs, chameleons and mouse lemurs.

Day Thirteen Antananaviro
• After breakfast, we will start our journey back to the capital across the scenic Central Highlands.
• If time permits, shopping at souvenir and handcrafts shops.

Day Fourteen Tour Ends
• Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
