Tour itinerary can be seen below.
Arrive at Lungi International airport and make your way on the boat across the Sierra Leone River to your hotel where the group will meet.
Take a tour of the city including the famous cotton tree, market, war memorial and St George's cathedral.
After breakfast we will travel to one of Sierra Leones's most famous and unspoilt beaches; River Beach Number 2. Here we have a free day around the beach or the option to take a boat cruise up the river and further hike. The evening is free to relax on the beach with meals of fresh fish and beers.
After breakfast we take a boat ride to Banana Island. The island was initially inhabited by the Portuguese and later by freed slaves. Return to River Beach Number 2 in the late afternoon and rest of the day at leisure.
Depart the beach in the morning and start the journey to the city of Bo - the centre of Sierra Leone's diamond mining industry. It's also known as the 'Manchester of Sierra Leone' due to its music scene and nightlife. We arrive here early afternoon and the rest of the day is free to wander around the city or relax in the hotel resort.
After breakfast we depart to Tiwai Island Sanctuary. We will enjoy local meals prepared by community cooks. We will have some free time to take nature walks where you can hopefully spot red, black and white colobus monkeys. There is also the opportunity to take an optional river cruise around the island.
In the morning we will take a wildlife walk of Tiwai before departing and heading to the Liberian border. Cross the border and join our new transport to take us to Robertsport, a city previously settled by African American freed slaves and was later an allied forces airbase in World War 2.
We spend the morning around Robertsport taking a walking tour. Visit churches, schools and the abandoned African Centre of Culture. Return to our accommodation for lunch before spending the afternoon at leisure or taking optional surf lessons.
After breakfast we travel to Liberia's capital, Monrovia where we will spend two nights. On the way we visit and swim at Bomi Lake at Tubmanburg; a 100 metre deep blue lake suspended midway between the peaks of surrounding mountains. Depending on accessibility at the time we will also visit an abandoned UN base which was used to deal with the Ebola outbreak in 2015.
Today we take a walking tour of Monrovia. We will stop for lunch in the Embassy District before returning to our hotel in the late afternoon.
Today the tour ends. Leave for your flight home or continue your travels through West Africa.
