The Three Guianas Adventure Tour

Itinerary

1. Day One, Aug 21 2026

   Arrival in Georgetown

   • Arrive in Georgetown, Guyana and transfer to the hotel.

   • The rest of the day can be spent at leisure.

   • Overnight in Georgetown.

2. Day Two, Aug 22 2026

   Kaieteur Falls

   • Today, we will take a half-day city tour of Georgetown, visiting iconic sights such as St. George’s Cathedral and Georgetown Sea Wall.

   • In the afternoon, we’ll fly to Kaieteur Falls. We’ll spend 2 hours at Kaieteur, where we’ll take a short hike to the viewpoint for the best views of the falls.

   • We’ll take the short flight back to Georgetown and have the evening at leisure.

3. Day Three, Aug 23 2026

   Cross into Suriname

   • After breakfast, we will set off for a long day of travelling from Guyana to Suriname! We will depart from the hotel at 04:30 to drive to our first stop, Moleson Creek.

   • We will then catch the ferry (fee not included) to cross the Courantyne River into South Drain, Suriname, where we’ll go through immigration.

   • We’ll drive to the capital city, Paramaribo, where we’ll spend the night.

4. Day Four, Aug 24 2026

   Danpaati Lodge

   • In the early morning, we’ll depart on our journey to Atjoni. Here we will embark on our boat cruise to the Surinamese Amazon.

   • In the early afternoon, we’ll arrive at Danpaati River Lodge, where we’ll have the opportunity to go swimming in the pristine rapids upstream to enjoy the serenity of the Surinamese jungle.

   • Overnight in Danpaati Lodge.

5. Day Five, Aug 25 2026

   Maroon Village

   • Today, we’ll spend the day with the Surinamese Maroons, who are descendants of escaped enslaved Africans taken to America.

   • We’ll learn the history, way of life and customs from the Saamaka tribe, who made the Suriname River their home. We’ll also have the chance to see a cultural dance at the end of the day.

   • In the evening, we’ll return to the Danpaati River Lodge.

6. Day Six, Aug 26 2026

   Back to Paramaribo

   • After breakfast, we will head back to Paramaribo. This will be our last chance to take in the Surinamese Amazon before heading back to the coast.

   • Upon arrival in Paramaribo, we will check back into the hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

7. Day Seven, Aug 27 2026

   Paramaribo

   • This morning, we will take a city tour in the heart of Paramaribo. We will explore the city’s Dutch colonial heritage and learn more about the history of this Caribbean nation’s formation.

   • In the afternoon, we’ll take a boat ride to visit the Commewijne region and have the opportunity to spot river dolphins! Here we will stop at a few plantations before returning to the city.

   • Overnight in Paramaribo.

8. Day Eight, Aug 28 2026

   Head to French Guiana

   • Today, we head for our final country, French Guiana. We’ll drive for around 2.5 hours to the border town of Albina and pass through immigration.

   • We’ll take the local tent boats across the Marowijne River to St. Laurent du Maroni. Here we will visit one of the penal colonies where Henri Charriere was first transferred from France.

   • After, we will continue to Kourou, where we will stay for the next two nights.

9. Day Nine, Aug 29 2026

   Guiana Space Centre

   • At 07:00, we start our tour of the Guiana Space Centre, also known as Europe’s Spaceport.

   • Here is where the ESA (European Space Agency) launches most of their rockets. During our visit, we will be able to learn about the history of the space industry in French Guiana and the importance of the technology used in the launches.

   • After the tour, we will return to Kourou to enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

10. Day Ten, Aug 30 2026

    Devil’s Island

    • This morning, we will start our Devil’s Island tour. We’ll explore 2 of the 3 Salvation Islands (Royal Island and St. Joseph Island), which made up the Guiana Penal Colony.

    • Afterwards, we’ll arrive in the capital city of Cayenne, where we’ll have the evening at leisure.

    • Overnight in Kourou.

11. Day Eleven, Aug 31 2026

    Tour Ends

    • On our final day of the tour, we’ll spend it exploring Cayenne, before heading to the airport for our departing flights.
