1 Arrive into Uzbekistan

Meet the tour leader and group at Istanbul Airport for the 17:00 flight to Tashkent (flight not included). Arrive at Tashkent International Airport at 20:20 and transfer to the hotel where you will stay overnight.

2 Tashkent tour

After breakfast, meet your tour guide in the hotel reception at 09:00 for a tour of the city. You will visit the impressive State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan, formerly known as the Lenin Museum and also known as the National Museum of History. Afterwards, explore some of Tashkent’s infamous metro stations which boast incredible artistry depicting Uzbek heritage. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will drive to Tashkent airport and take the 14:40 flight to Nukus (flight not included). Arrive in Nukus at 16:20 and transfer to the hotel where you will stay for 2 nights. Enjoy dinner at the hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

3 Aral Sea ship graveyard

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, meet the group in the hotel reception at 09:00 and visit Savitskiy Museum where you can find one of the most remarkable art collections of Soviet times. Later in the morning, we will drive to Muynak which was once a bustling port city. After lunch at a local house we will spend the afternoon visiting the cemetery of ships from the soviet era and the Muynak Local Lore Museum, where you can find out more about the history of the city. Drive back to Nukus in time for dinner and spend the evening at leisure.

4 Ayaz Kala fortress

Have breakfast in the hotel before meeting at reception at 09:00, ready to depart Nukus and drive to Khiva. On the way, we will take a stop at the vast and impressive archeological sites of Tuprok Kala and Ayaz Kala Fortress, hailing from the ancient Kushan era. Have a traditional lunch in Ayaz Kala before continuing the drive to Khiva. Once transferred to the hotel in Khiva, you can have dinner in the hotel before spending the evening at leisure. Why not meander through the labyrinth of Khiva’s narrow, mud-walled streets and watch its magnificent sites illuminate by spot-light when night falls!

5 Khiva

After breakfast, we will meet at 09:00 to explore the sites of Khiva, such as the vast UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ichan Kala Fortress. After having lunch at a local restaurant, we will depart Khiva at 14:00 and drive on to Bukhara. Arrive at the hotel where we will be staying for 2 nights; have dinner in the hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

6 Bukhara

Meet in reception at 09:00 after enjoying breakfast in the hotel. Spend the morning exploring the many sites of Bukhara, including the Samanids Mausoleum, the impressive Ark Fortress and the beautiful Poi Kalon Complex; which showcases the skill of Uzbek architects and mosaic artists on a grand scale. Later in the morning, experience the hustle and bustle of the old Trading Domes before heading over to Lyabi Hauz where you can soak up the atmosphere of this historical complex that surrounds one of the few remaining ponds of Bukhara. Enjoy lunch in the city before visiting a traditional suzani workshop where we can learn how the embroidered, tribal textiles that are synonymous with the silk road are made.

Spend the rest of the afternoon and your final evening in Bukhara at leisure.

7 Samarkand

After an early breakfast, we will depart Bukhara at 08:00 and drive to Samarkand. Arriving at around 13:00, we will head to a local restaurant for lunch and spend the afternoon exploring the sights of the city, including the beautiful Gur Emir Mausoleum and Registan Square. Check into the hotel, have dinner there and spend your evening at leisure. We recommend revisiting the sites seen earlier in the day and experiencing them illuminated by spotlights when the night sets in.

8 Samarkand

After breakfast, we will meet in the hotel reception at 09:00 and resume our exploration of Samarkand. Take in the atmosphere of Siab Bazaar (often considered the largest and oldest bazaars in Samarkand) before visiting the beautiful, blue tiled Shahi I Zinda Necropolis. We will then have lunch in the city before heading to the Meros Handicraft Centre. At 17:00 we depart Samarkand by train to Tashkent. Arrive in the city at around 19:00 and head to the hotel where we will have a farewell dinner and stay overnight.

9 Return to Istanbul

Wake early and transfer to Tashkent Airport for the 07:40 flight to Istanbul (flight not included).
