• Arrive into Kabul and transfer to the hotel for check-in.
• After will explore the bird market and the Sakhi Shrine in the west of Kabul.
• Overnight in Kabul.
• After breakfast, we will head to Herat where we will visit the Masjidi Jami Mosque, followed by a short visit to the tile factory of Herat, and then the historical site of the Herat Citadel.
• In the afternoon we will also have the chance to look around Herat Bazaar.
• Overnight in Herat.
• We will start the day by paying a visit to the Tomb of Goharshad, and the Minarets of Herat.
• In the afternoon we will visit the Guzargah Mosque, and then the Puli Malaan, a 12th century arched bridge.
• We will then board a domestic flight back to Kabul in the late afternoon and head to Bamiyan.
• Overnight in Bamiyan.
• Today we will visit several historical sites such as the Buddha Niches, and the ruins of both Shar-e Gholghola (City of Screams) and Shar-e Zuhak (The Red City).
• Overnight in Bamiyan.
• Today we journey to the Band-e Amir National Park to visit the six blue lakes, before journeying back to Bamiyan in the afternoon.
• Overnight in Bamiyan.
• We will depart for a full-day drive toward Mazar-e-Sharif, through the Hindukush mountain ranges and passing through 5 provinces; Bamiyan, Parwan, Baghlan, Samangan, and Balkh.
• We will arrive into Mazar-e-Sharif in the evening.
• Overnight in Mazar-e-Sharif.
• Today we will arrive in Balkh, paying visits to several important historical sites; the Haji Piyada Mosque, the tomb of Rabia Balkhi, the Khoja Parasa Mosque, and the Bala Hisar, the ruins of an ancient citadel.
• In the afternoon we will also visit the Blue Tiled Mosque of Ali in Mazar-e-Sharif.
• Overnight in Mazar-e-Sharif.
• We will journey to visit Takht-i Rustam, a hilltop settlement site adjacent to Buddhist caves and stupas north of the Hindu Kush pass.
• In the afternoon we will attend a Buzkashi game back in Mazar.
• Overnight in Mazar-e-Sharif.
• In the morning we will take a domestic flight to Kabul to visit the Shah Do Shamshira Mosque in the heart of Kabul.
• In the afternoon we will then visit the historical park, the Gardens of Babur, and then finally take a walk to the Bibi Mahro Hills for a spectacular view of Kabul.
• Overnight in Kabul.
• Transfer to the airport in Kabul for your departure at any time.
At the time of writing (November 2023), the blue mosque in Mazar is closed for access. Also, recently females were banned from visiting Band-e Amir national park. This was recently revoked but if it the ban returns then we will arrange an alternative tour for the females in the group this day.
