We offer the option of travelling to North Korea for just 3 nights to take part in only the golf tournament or extending your stay and take a tour of the country, including Day of the Foundation of the Republic celebrations on the 9th September.
You will have the option of starting the tour in Beijing or Dandong. For those in Dandong, we will meet outside the train station at 9am ready to head to the North Korean border. We cross the Yalu river on the Sino-Korea Friendship bridge over to Sinuiju and take the train directly to Pyongyang. View the Korean countryside through the train windows throughout your journey to Pyongyang. A great chance to interact with locals on the train and in the restaurant car. We reach Pyongyang in time for dinner at the Yanggakdo hotel.
For those in Beijing, we will depart on the afternoon of the 3rd at 17:30 on the sleeper train. Or you can take a flight on the 4th through our partners. Contact for details.
Today we head out of Pyongyang to North Korea's only golf course. It is located on the banks of Taicheng Lake, 27km from Pyongyang City. The 18 hole par 72 course covers 120 hectares with 45 hectares of green and is 7km long. Today is a day of practice to get used to the course.
A break will be taken after the front 9 with lunch provided in the clubhouse. After the back nine we will return to Pyongyang for sightseeing of the Pyongyang metro, Juche tower and Mansudae monument. We will go for dinner in a Pyongyang restaurant before stopping off at a bar before returning to the hotel.
Today we return to the golf course for a full day tournament. At the end of the day, presentations will be made and trophies awarded to the winners and chance to celebrate in the clubhouse bar.
We later return to Pyongyang to have dinner at one of the city's finest restaurants. We will then have the option of visiting the Rungna People's Pleasureground; a new Pyongyang amusement park, or spending the night at a Pyongyang bar.
Today there will be the option of departing Pyongyang or staying on to join one of our group tours attending Founding of the DPRK day. For those departing by train, you will leave Pyongyang at 10.00 and arrive back in Dandong around 17.00. For those flying, departure is at 9.00, arriving back in Beijing at around 10:00.
