The world’s largest island, Greenland sits on the cusp of the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, making for a unique environment that has sculpted the region’s history and culture. Our tour visits Western Greenland where we’ll start in the capital of Nuuk and explore the indigenous Inuit’s culture and way of life before taking ferries along Greenland’s dramatic coastline, with the potential to spot whales and other maritime wildlife. Hiking, sea kayaking and fishing opportunities all await in one of the world’s most pristine wildernesses.
View Greenland toursBeginning in Nuuk, we’ll visit Kittat Culture Centre for a guided city tour before travelling to Camp Kangiusaq in Nuuk fjord, one of the largest fjord systems in the world. Here we’ll hike to a viewpoint, with further fishing or sea kayaking tour options, taking in the area’s impressive icebergs and hopefully spotting some marine wildlife along the way.
After returning to Nuuk, the tour heads out along the coast, sailing among deep fjords and observing glaciers and wildlife. A two hour stop off at coastal towns along the way breaks up the journey before taking on the Sermermiut UNESCO hike in Ilulissat (the iceberg capital of Greenland). On Disko Island there will be a hike from Qeqertarsuaq to Kuannit, exploring rugged volcanic terrain with a local guide. After hiking through the panoramic surrounds of Lyngmark Glacier, our tour finishes with the midnight sun icefjord cruise, a magical opportunity to observe towering icebergs bathed in the mystical light of the Arctic midnight sun.
