Right alongside the Atlantic coast is a country well-off the usual tourist trail. Equatorial Guinea, the only country in Africa with Spanish as its official language, is split between the mainland of Africa and the island of Bioko, where the capital Malabo is.

Itinerary

  1. Day One

    Arrive in Malabo 

    • Arrive into Malabo and transfer to the hotel.

    • Dinner and overnight in Malabo.

  2. Day Two

    Exploring Bata

    • After breakfast we will go from Malabo to Bata, the largest city in Equatorial Guinea and here we will take a city tour.

    • Explore Bata’s bustling marketplaces, immerse ourselves in the vibrant local culture and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

    • Dinner and overnight in Bata.

  3. Day Three

    Journey to Kogo

    • Today we travel south to the remote town of Kogo, known for its decaying Spanish Colonial architecture nestled in the jungles of southern Equatorial Guinea.

    • Here we will discover the town’s unique blend of history and natural beauty.

    • Dinner and overnight in Kogo.

  4. Day Four

    Corisco Island

    • An exciting adventure awaits as we embark on a boat ride to Corisco Island.

    • Embrace the tranquillity of the island as we spend the night camping under the stars.

    • Dinner and overnight camping on Corisco Island.

  5. Day Five

    Ciudad de la Paz

    • Enjoy a leisurely morning exploring Corisco Island, relishing the serene beauty of the island.

    • Return to the mainland by boat and continue northeast to Ciudad de la Paz, also known as Djibloho, the future capital of Equatorial Guinea.

    • Dinner and overnight in Ciudad de la Paz.

  6. Day Six

    Tour of Ciudad de la Paz

    • Delve into the city’s ongoing construction and development with a tour of Ciudad de la Paz.

    • Dinner and overnight in Ciudad de la Paz.

  7. Day Seven

    Return to Malabo

    • Depart from Ciudad de la Paz head back to Malabo.

    • Explore the sights of Malabo, including a visit to Finka Sampaka, a cacao and coffee plantation where we can learn about local agriculture.

    • Dinner and overnight in Malabo.

  8. Day Eight

    Bioko Island Tour

    • Today we embark on a tour of Bioko Island, including a visit to its highest point, Pico Basile, which on a clear day offers breath-taking panoramic views over the island.

    • Discover Ureka, known as the wettest place in Africa. Experience its lush rainforests and natural beauty.

    • Farewell dinner and overnight in Malabo.

  9. Day Nine

    Tour Ends

    • Transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
