Welcome to Kalaallit Nunaat, or as we know it, Greenland. Our tour will take us to the West and Northwest coast of the largest non-continental island in the world. Here we will delve into the millenary culture of the Inuit, while connecting with the otherworldly nature of the Arctic Circle. Join us to be awed by the dramatic Greenlandic nature, from towering icebergs, imposing granite peaks, lush marine wildlife, and pristine oceans.

Itinerary

  1. Day One, Jul 21 2026

    Arrival in Nuuk

    • Arrival at Nuuk airport, where you will be transferred to the hotel.

    • The day can be spent at leisure and a welcome dinner will be organised for 19:00 by your tour leader (not included).

    • Overnight Nuuk.

  2. Day Two, Jul 22 2026

    Tour of Nuuk

    • In late morning, we will take a guided tour of Nuuk, focused on the Greenlandic relationship with food and the scarce resources in the far north. We will be able to visit the hunter’s market and taste some local products.

    • After lunch, we will visit the Kittat Culture Centre for a guided tour of the manufacturing of traditional clothes with various animal skins with the local artisans.

    • Spend the rest of the evening at leisure with the possibility of visiting museums (entry fee not included) or simply admiring the unique views of Nuuk.

    • Overnight in Nuuk.

  3. Day Three, Jul 23 2026

    Camp Kangiusaq

    • After breakfast, we will take a transfer to Camp Kangiusaq in Nuuk fjord, one of the largest fjord systems in Greenland.

    • Upon arrival, check into camp while admiring the icebergs on the horizon.

    • Embark on a guided hike to see the glacier with our local guide (4-5 hours).

    • Overnight in Camp Kangiusaq.

  4. Day Four, Jul 24 2026

    Optional Activities

    • After breakfast, take the option of a 2-hour sea kayaking tour or a 2-hour fishing tour with a local guide. We will be able to get close to the icebergs and, with some luck, see some marine wildlife.

    • After lunch, we will take a transfer back to Nuuk.

    • Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure exploring Greenland’s capital before boarding the Coastal Ferry at 20:00.

    • Overnight in couchettes (bunk beds with curtains for privacy) aboard the ferry.

  5. Day Five, Jul 25 2026

    Sailing through the Glaciers

    • Spend the day sailing along the dramatic coast of Greenland as the local people do. We will go along deep fjords, have views of glaciers and can try to spot whales on the way.

    • The ferry will make stops at Maniitsoq, Kangaamiut, Sisimiut and Aasiaat (2.5 hours, enough time to get off and explore town) before docking at Ilulissat.

    • Overnight in couchettes (bunk beds with curtains for privacy) aboard the ferry.

  6. Day Six, Jul 26 2026

    Sermermiut UNESCO Hike

    • After lunch, arrive in Ilulissat, the iceberg capital of Greenland.

    • After a quick rest and shower, we will begin the Sermermiut UNESCO hike. This is a valley in front of Ilulissat Icefjords that is of great historical importance to the Inuit throughout the millennia. Hike with a local guide (3 hours).

    • Visit the Icefjord Centre to learn about glaciers and the history of Greenland (entry fee included).

    • Overnight in Ilulissat.

  7. Day Seven, Jul 27 2026

    Disko Island

    • After breakfast, we will take a ferry (2.5 hr) to Qeqertarsuaq, the biggest settlement on Disko Island. Crossing Disko Bay and contemplating massive icebergs along the way.

    • Upon arrival, we will drop our luggage and hike to Kuannit to explore the volcanic nature of Disko Island with a local guide (ca. 4 hours).

    • Afterwards, we will spend the rest of the evening at leisure in picturesque Qeqertarsuaq.

    • Overnight in Disko Island.

  8. Day Eight, Jul 28 2026

    Lyngmark Glacier

    • In the morning, we will take a Qeqertarsuaq town tour with a local guide to further our learning of the northern Inuit way of life.

    • We will then check out from the hotel and hike to Lyngmark Glacier, taking in the panoramic views along the way with the local guide (5-6 hours).

    • Arrive at Disko Mountain Lodge with 360 views of Lyngmark Glacier and relax in the cosy lodge for the rest of the evening.

    • Overnight at Disko Mountain Lodge.

  9. Day Nine, Jul 29 2026

    Midnight Sun Icefjord Cruise

    • After breakfast, we will hike back to Qeqertarsuaq with the local guide (3-4 hours).

    • In the early afternoon, we will take the ferry back to Ilulissat (2.5 hours).

    • We will have the rest of the afternoon and early evening at leisure to rest from the previous hiking days, or we can explore Ilulissat.

    • One of the highlights of the tour: the midnight sun icefjord cruise. Cruise along towering icebergs with the mystical light of the Arctic midnight sun with a local guide. Aboard the boat, it will even be possible to have a drink with glacier ice caught right from the icefjord!

    • Overnight Ilulissat.

  10. Day Ten, Jul 30 2026

    Tour Ends

    • After breakfast, say goodbye to Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland in Greenlandic) by meeting the sledge dogs, where we will hear the history and importance of the breed for the Inuit people and be able to pet and feed them with the local guide

    • International departure from Ilulissat airport.
