Day One, Jul 19 2026 Arrival in Monrovia
• Arrive at the Roberts International Airport, make your way to the hotel.
• Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
• Overnight in Monrovia.

Day Two, Jul 20 2026 Monrovia City Tour
• Today, we will explore Monrovia, visiting the abandoned Dukor Hotel, a former 5-star hotel that was partly destroyed during the Civil War. Next, we will head to West Point, the biggest slum community in Liberia.
• Later, we will visit the National Museum, the first presidential palace/pavilion and the Centennial Pavilion, where Liberian presidents are inaugurated and the longest-serving president was buried. Then, we will head to Providence Island, an important historic site in Liberia, where freed slaves were brought when repatriated from the United States of America.
• Afterwards, we will visit the University of Liberia, the second-highest educational institution ever established in West Africa. Later, we will view the Executive Mansion and other government buildings.
• Overnight in Monrovia.

Day Three, Jul 21 2026 Kpatawee Waterfall
• After breakfast, we will head for the Kpatawee Waterfall.
• Along the way, we will visit the Firestone rubber plantation to see some of the villages and how people live in the plantation. We will see the mushroom farm near the farm belonging to the former Liberian president Charles Taylor, who is currently in a British Prison for war crimes.
• We will then drive on the dirt road to arrive at the Kpatawee Waterfall, the most well-maintained waterfall in West Africa.
• Overnight by the waterfall.

Day Four, Jul 22 2026 Cross to Côte d’Ivoire
• Today we will cross the border to Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast). We will make a brief stop on the highway to take a look at OAU (Organisation of African Unity) conference centre, where the organisation was first put together.
• After crossing the border, we will visit the traditional bridge made of tree roots. Every few years, the bridge is replaced with newer and stronger roots and locals believe that the bridge changes to a new one overnight. Therefore, they do not use footwear on the bridge as they consider it sacred.
• Overnight in Man.

Day Five, Jul 23 2026 Yamoussoukro
• This morning, we will visit the monkey forest in Man. Here we will see many monkeys as well as the La Cascade waterfall. At the waterfall, there may be an opportunity to go swimming. You will also hike the trail to the “Dent de Man,” a location known for hiking, landscape viewing and another waterfall.
• Afterwards, we will travel to Yamoussoukro, the political and administrative capital of Côte d’Ivoire. The city is home to the world’s second-largest church as well as the largest peach research foundation in the world.
• Overnight in Yamoussoukro.

Day Six, Jul 24 2026 Yamoussoukro City Tour
• Today, we will take a city tour of Yamoussoukro. We will visit Bomizambo, a traditional village dedicated to weaving and mask dances. After, we will head to the famous Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, one of the largest churches in the world.
• Later, we will head to the Crocodile River and the home of former president Ofoye, the first president of Côte d’Ivoire. We will then visit the world’s largest peace foundation, the presidential hotel and a massive university constructed by the longest serving president, Felix Houphouet-Boigny.
• Overnight in Yamoussoukro.

Day Seven, Jul 25 2026 Abidjan
• After breakfast, we will head to Abidjan, the most populous French-speaking city in West Africa.
• We will visit Platuex and see St. Paul Cathedral, The Pyramid, National Cultural Museum, the former King’s Palace turned orphanage and the Adjame Market.
• In the afternoon, we will head to Grand Bassam and have the option to go horse riding on the beach.
• Overnight in Abidjan.

Day Eight, Jul 26 2026 Grand Bassam
• Today, we will explore Grand Bassam, the former French Colonial capital city.
• We will do a walking tour and visit places such as the Ancient Colonial bank, the former French Slave Station turned hotel, the very first cinema of Cote D’Ivoire and the watch tower.
• Later, we will travel further around the city and visit the palaces of two traditional kings, as well as the African Traditional Craft Centre or craft market.
• Overnight in Grand Bassam.

Day Nine, Jul 27 2026 Cross to Ghana
• This morning, we will head to the border and cross into Ghana and then journey to Cape Coast. We will explore Nzulenzu, a stilt village established by people seeking refuge from the Mali empire.
• Afterwards, we will head to Axim and visit Fort San Antonio, the second fort constructed by the Portuguese after St. George’s Castle in Elmina.
• Overnight in Axim.

Day Ten, Jul 28 2026 Elmina Castle
• After breakfast, we will visit Elmina Castle, the oldest European building in Africa, erected by the Portuguese in the 15th century. At different times, the castle has been used as a warehouse to trade gold, ivory, and eventually, slaves. The castle we visit today is the result of successive extension works and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Outside the castle, there is a wonderful fishing village with lots of large colourful fishing boats.
• In the old town, you will see the Posuban, the shrines of the old “Asafo companies”, the warriors who used to put their offerings on the large colourful statues. The alleys in the old town have a lively atmosphere, reminiscent of when Elmina was a busy colonial town.
• Later, we will visit the Cape Coast Castle, the largest slave castle on the coast of Africa.
• Overnight in Cape Coast.

Day Eleven, Jul 29 2026 Kumasi
• Today we will travel to Kumasi, the historical and spiritual capital of the old Ashanti Kingdom.
• First, we will visit the Kakum National Park for the Canopy Walk, which is safely suspended 40 meters high in the branches of tall trees. Next, we will stop at the Slave River and the Slave Market to learn about this former business area. We will then continue to Kumasi.
• Overnight in Kumasi.

Day Twelve, Jul 30 2026 Kumasi City Tour
• Today, we explore Kumansi. With nearly one million inhabitants, Kumasi is a sprawling city with a fantastic central market believed to be the biggest in West Africa and one of the biggest in Africa. Every type of Ashanti craft (leather goods, pottery, Kente cloth) is found here, along with just about every kind of tropical fruit and vegetable.
• We will visit the Ashanti Cultural Centre: a rich collection of Ashanti artefacts housed in a wonderful reproduction of an Ashanti 5 house, the Military Museum, the Sword Museum and the King’s Palace Museum.
• Overnight in Kumasi.

Day Thirteen, Jul 31 2026 Accra
• After breakfast, we will head to the capital city of Accra.
• On the way, we will have lunch at the famous Linda Dor Highway restaurant. Then, we will arrive at the hotel in the evening.

Day Fourteen, Aug 1 2026 Accra City Tour
• This morning, we will begin a city tour of Accra. We will go to the National Museum, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, and the Independence Square, one of the first works of independent Ghana.
• Next, we will explore the old quarter of James Town, an old slave port with a ruined massive fort. This town has a lighthouse, a slave prison and is home to the local traditional chief. We will then visit a workshop specialised in building fantasy coffins. These special handcrafted coffins come in many shapes: fruits, animals, fish, cars, aeroplanes and many more.
• We end the day with a visit to the Osu Castle, the slave castle that served as the Ghanaian presidential palace for years.
• Overnight in Accra.

Day Fifteen, Aug 2 2026 Akosombo
• After breakfast, we journey to Akosombo, a city built in the early 1960s to house construction workers of the hydroelectric dam. The dam also features the world’s second-largest artificial lake. We will visit the dam both by land and river (using a motorboat).
• Overnight in Akosombo.

Day Sixteen, Aug 3 2026 Journey to Togo
• From Akosombo, we will travel to Kpalime, Togo. Here we will visit Cascade de Wome waterfall, Foret de Missahohe, Cascade de Yikpe, The CastleViale or Chateau Viale (a building once owned by a colonial German lawyer, later used as a presidential resort but now lies in ruin.
• Depending on arrival time, since border crossing sometimes causes a delay, we may visit some of the sites the following morning.
• Overnight in Kpalime.

Day Seventeen, Aug 4 2026 Lome
• After breakfast, we will head to Lome, the capital city of Togo.
• We will have a more relaxed day, walking around the local markets and the beach area.
• Overnight in Lome.

Day Eighteen, Aug 5 2026 Lome City Tour
• Today, we will take a tour of Lome. We will visit the Craft Market, the Big Market, the Monument of Independence, Lome Cathedral, Village Artisanal and Musee International Du Golfe de Guinee.
• We will end the day with a visit to the famous Voodoo market, where the locals go for spiritual consultation to seek understanding of their day-to-day problems.
• Overnight in Lome.

Day Nineteen, Aug 6 2026 Cross to Benin
• Today, we will depart from Togo and head to Benin. Along the way, we will visit the ‘Maison Des Escale (House of Slaves) and the beautiful colonial towns of Togoville and Aneho.
• Upon arrival in Abomey, we will spend the rest of the day at leisure.
• Overnight in Abomey.

Day Twenty, Aug 7 2026 Travel to Cotonou
• After breakfast, we will visit an authentic voodoo temple in one of the nearby villages. Next, we will visit the UNESCO-listed Royal Palace, the former home of the Dahomey kings. The palace displays items belonging to the ancient rulers: thrones, cult altars, statues, costumes, and weapons. In the middle of the royal courtyard, there is a temple built with a mixture of clay, gold dust and human blood.
• After lunch, we will travel to Cotonou, stopping en route in Ouidah. Here you will visit a Portuguese fort (now a museum) and the Python temple, where the locals worship the snakes.
• Overnight in Cotonou.

Day Twenty-One, Aug 8 2026 Cotonou City Tour
• In the morning, we will travel to Ganvie, a stilt village which was created by Africans in fear of being taken by slavers.
• We will then head back to Cotonou to visit the Amazon Monument, view the presidential palace and other important areas. Later, we will see the abandoned L1011 Trista Aircraft sitting on the sand on the beach.
• Overnight in Cotonou.

Day Twenty-Two, Aug 9 2026 End of Tour
• Today, we will travel to Porto Novo, the de facto capital city of Benin. We will visit Musee Ethnographique de Porto Novo, Musee Honme and three major Voodoo temples.
• Next, we will visit the Afro-Brazilian community to see the mosque that is a replica of a church in Brazil. We will visit the colonial French administrative centre where the governor’s residence still stands.
• After, we will return to Cotonou, where the tour ends.
