Which flights should I book?: The group must travel from Tunis, Tunisia to Tripoli, Libya and back together. We will advise when you should arrive into Tunisia and we will book the return flight from Tunis to Tripoli on your behalf.

How is the security situation in Libya?: While Libya is a place that has experienced great political instability in the past, currently they are working towards having more communication between both governments and are looking forward to receive more tourists in this rarely visited country. The security situation is mostly stable now and in the case of any event, the tourist route is extremely unlikely to be affected. That being said it is crucial to follow your local guide's recommendations when you are on the ground.

What is the accommodation like?: You will stay in 3 star hotels throughout the tour. As tourism is only restarting in Libya, WiFi is not available in the hotel in Ghadames. In our Eastern Libya and Ubari Lakes extensions the WiFi in the hotels can also have a weak signal, so if connectivity is important for you we would recommend getting a local SIM card.

Is it possible to explore independently at the end of each day after the tours are over?: This depends greatly on the security situation at the moment you are in Libya. The local guide will advice whether it is possible or not, and we cannot guarantee this would be possible.

Do I need a visa to travel to Libya?: All travellers require a visa to enter Libya. Please send a clear, colour scan of your passport and we will arrange a visa approval code for you. The visa approval fee for most nationalities is £135. Once the visa code is issued (approximately 2-3 weeks prior to departure) you will then be able to use it to obtain a visa from your nearest Libyan Consulate. The fees for the visas differ depending on the Consulate issuing them so please contact your local embassy/consulate beforehand for the current prices. The visas are only ever issued close to the tour; from 1-4 weeks.

Do I require travel insurance?: Health insurance is obligatory for anyone booking a tour with us. Please contact us for a list of providers who cover our destinations. We strongly advise to take out a comprehensive policy that will also fully cover you for cancellations due to illness, lost luggage etc. You should take out your insurance policy as soon as you book the trip with us.

Do I need vaccinations?: No vaccinations are compulsory but you should seek advice from a health professional - GP, nurse, pharmacist or travel clinic - ideally 8 weeks prior to travel. Further advice can be found here

When will I receive my tour information pack?: The information pack will follow approximately 4 weeks prior to departure.

Can I still get an ESTA if I travel to Libya?: If you are travelling to the US after this tour, you will no longer be eligible for an ESTA and will need a full US visa.
