A place of tribes and ancient customs, Papua New Guinea is the most linguistically diverse country on earth (840 known languages including English) and also one of the least urbanised. The country’s constitutionally-enshrined rural community culture provides the focus of our tour, including visits to tribal villages and culminating in the Mount Hagen Festival. A gathering of tribes from across the Western Highlands, the festival gives you the opportunity to experience traditional sing-sings, costume parades, games and cultural displays.
View Papua New Guinea toursOur tour also explores the country’s two most populous cities, Port Moresby and Lae, as well as opportunities to learn more about the country’s lesser known WW2 history. One of the richest and most diverse habitats on earth, Papua New Guinea is believed to be home to many undocumented plants and animals. A visit to the rugged Rondon Valley will give you the opportunity to spot rare birds including Birds of Paradise and other native wildlife.
