In the middle of West Africa is one of the region’s least visited country, Burkina Faso. Largely untouched by modernising forces, Burkina Faso is a time capsule containing diverse tribes and wildlife which call this land home.
Itinerary

Day One Ouagadougou
• Visit the Arrive in Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso.
• Depending on your arrival time, we will visit the National Museum, Market, Monument of Heroes and Cathedral.
• Overnight in Ouagadougou.

Day Two Bobo Dioulasso
• Drive west to Bobo Dioulasso, the second largest city of Burkina Faso, filled with rich culture and architecture.
• We will visit the Old Mud Mosque, built from local mud and wood in 1983; an outstanding example of Sahel-style mud architecture.
• Afterwards, we will visit the old Kibidwe artisan’s district, where we can see the traditional blacksmiths, potters and the process of dyeing cloths; a glimpse into the city’s authentic life.
• We will then have dinner and go out to watch some live music in the evening.
• Overnight in Bobo Dioulasso.

Day Three Kawara Village
• Today we will explore the Sindou Peaks and visit Kawara Village where we will see a traditional pottery dance.
• Lunch in Banfora and then visit the Fabedougou Domes and swim at Karfiguela Waterfall.
• Overnight in Banfora.

Day Four Return to Bobo Dioulasso
• This morning we will head back to Bobo Dioulasso and explore the local market, Cathedral and French Colonial Railway Station.
• In the afternoon we will drive to Koro, an animist and catholic village. Dinner will be in a local restaurant accompanied by African Blues Music. Overnight in Bobo Dioulasso.
• Overnight in Bobo Dioulasso.

Day Five Return to Ouagadougou
• Start the journey back to Ouagadougou in the morning.
• We will stop en-route to visit the sacred crocodile pond and meet with the village chief.
• Afterwards, continue to Ouagadougou and visit the Thomas Sankara Monument, Fespaco Monument and craft market.
• Overnight in Ouagadougou.

Day Six Village of Tiebele
• Drive to the unique village of Tiebele, located in the country’s southwest region. The Kassena civilization once called this region home. They first settled in the area in the 15th century and are the oldest ethnic group of Burkina Faso. Tiebele now boasts stunning wall paintings and colourful windowless traditional houses called ‘sukhalas.’
• Visit the royal compounds of Tiebele, the former residence of the community chief. Here we will see women decorating their homes in the traditional artistic style.
• After lunch, we will drive back to Ouagadougou to be transferred to the airport for the end of the tour.
