What are the visa requirements for Mogadishu, Somalia?: Visas are required for all visiting Somalia. We require a copy of your passport and will issue a Letter of Invitation (LOI) and sponsor code and then you can apply for an eVisa. The current visa cost is $64.

Alternatively, we can arrange your visa through Mogadishu Immigration for $85, which includes the official visa fee and immigration service charge ($64 for the visa and $21 for the service charge).

Is there a dress code in Mogadishu, Somalia?: Somalia is a Muslim country so conservative clothing is required. Men must wear long sleeved tops and trousers and women must wear long sleeved tops and either trousers or a long skirt/dress. A headscarf also needs to be worn by women at religious sites.

Is alcohol allowed in Mogadishu, Somalia?: Alcohol is illegal so you won’t be able to drink whilst in the country.

Can I have my own room in Mogadishu?: A single room is included as part of the tour price.

Do I require travel insurance?: Health insurance is obligatory for anyone booking a tour with us. Please contact us for details of providers who cover our destinations. We strongly advise to take out a comprehensive policy that will also fully cover you for cancellations due to illness, lost luggage etc. You should take out your insurance policy as soon as you book the trip with us.

Do I need vaccinations?: There are several vaccinations that are classed as essential. Malaria is high risk so please ensure you take adequate precautions, including bringing the appropriate medication. You should also seek advice from a health professional - GP, nurse, pharmacist or travel clinic - ideally 8 weeks prior to travel. Further advice can be found here
