After our first recce tour in March 2026, we will return to the Saharan Provinces of Morocco in November 2026 for a 2nd exploratory tour.

Starting in the capital city of Laayoune, you will drive through the old desert tracks, along river beds and over the dunes to the desert city of Smara. Our next destination is Akhfennir. Reached via the route of the old Dakar-Paris rally, we spend two nights in the seaside town of Akhfennir. From your base, you will explore the Khoai Nam (Grand Canyon of the Sahara), the red salt lake and some more spectacular dunes before visiting the incredible Khenfliss National Park, where the dunes meet the sea. After seeing the huge population of flamingos, and the range of birdlife, you will visit Tarfaya, the former Spanish outpost before returning along the scenic desert tracks back to Laayoune.
